3rd Grade Journals/Word Processing


PA standards
  • NETS.1.6-8: Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.
  • NETS.2.6-8: Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.
  • NETS.6.6-8: Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems and operations.

Objectives -
  1. Locate and use letters, numbers, and special keys (e.g., arrow keys, space bar, insert Enter/Return, Backspace, Delete) on the keyboard.
  2. Use proper keyboarding techniques to improve accuracy and general efficiency in computer operations.
  3. Use correct finger placement for home row keys
  4. Compose sentences, short paragraphs, and stories.
  5. Students will demonstrate the ability to use a word processing application on a computer. (pages)
  6. Be able to accomplish everyday tasks associated with creating, formatting and finishing small sized word processing documents/assignments ready for distribution.

Warm up –Each class I will introduce a skill listed in the vocab section and demonstrate how to use it in Pages.
